This is a vintage Fenton Carnival Glass bowl featuring an iridescent finish and a detailed "Cherry" or "Cherry Chain" pattern. The glass has an amethyst or purple base color that shimmers with a multi-colored, oil-on-water effect due to its iridescent finish, a signature characteristic of carnival glass. The bowl has a round shape with a scalloped or crimped rim and intricate relief designs of fruit and foliage visible both inside and on the underside. This specific type of art glass was produced by the renowned American manufacturer Fenton Art Glass Company, with production runs occurring in the early 1900s and again in the 1970s. The bottom of the bowl is a rich black and in the middle is the Fenton makers mark.
